Behold I do not give lectures or a little charity, When I give I give myself.

Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.

And I will show that nothing can happen more beautiful than death.

After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on - have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear - what remains? Nature remains.

A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books.

Have you heard that it was good to gain the day? I also say it is good to fall, battles are lost in the same spirit in which they are won.

Henceforth I ask not good fortune. I myself am good fortune.

Here or henceforward it is all the same to me, I accept Time absolutely.

I am as bad as the worst, but, thank God, I am as good as the best.

I celebrate myself, and sing myself.

I celebrate myself, and what I assume you shall assume, For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you. I loafe and invite my soul, I lean and loafe at my ease... observing a spear of summer grass.

I exist as I am, that is enough.

If any thing is sacred, the human body is sacred.

Produce great men, the rest follows.

Re-examine all that you have been told... dismiss that which insults your soul.

Simplicity is the glory of expression.

To me every hour of the light and dark is a miracle. Every cubic inch of space is a miracle.

To me, every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle.

"If you have the courage to touch life for the first time, you will never know what hit you.  Everything man has thought, felt and experienced is gone, and nothing is put in its place."

"Whether you are interested in Moksha, Liberation, Freedom, Transformation, you name it, you are interested in happiness without one moment of unhappiness, pleasure without pain, it is the same thing."

"We don't want to be free from fear. All that we want to do is to play games with it and talk about freeing ourselves from fear."

"Your constant utilization of thought to give continuity to your separate self is 'you'. There is nothing there inside you other than that."

"When the movement in the direction of becoming something other than what you are isn't there any more, you are not in conflict with yourself."

Happiness Print E-mail

by Alfred D. Souza

For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time to still be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time … and remember that time waits for no one…

So stop waiting
until you finish school,
until you go back to school,
until you lose ten pounds,
until you gain ten pounds,
until you have kids,
until your kids leave the house,
until you start work,
until you retire,
until you get married,
until you get divorced,
until Friday night,
until Sunday morning,
until you get a new car or home,
until your car or home is paid off,
until spring,
until summer,
until fall,
until winter,
until you are off welfare,
until the first or fifteenth,
until your song comes on,
until you've had a drink,
until you've sobered up,
until you die,
until you are born again

to decide that there is no better time than Right NOW to be Happy…

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Dance
as though no one is watching you

Love
as though you have never been hurt before

Sing
as though no one can hear you

Live
as though heaven is on earth

[Quotation] R.D.Laing - Faith, Hope, and Love Print E-mail
Sunday, 19 October 2008

But human life is only dust and ashes without love. If you investigate and inquire into the world without love, you don’t find anything worthwhile. If you look at a tree or a frog or anything at all without the eyes of love, then you obtain only loveless, heartless knowledge. When such knowledge is ac-cumulated and applied to practices of scientific technology, it becomes the most destructive form of knowledge ever discovered. Even the worst black magic cannot vie with the destructive capacity of science. Its very method is to destroy what it looks at in order to discover its elements.

When we start to doubt, hope is the anchor that binds our faith to love. I am speaking in the vocabulary of Christianity. It is a pity that this vocabulary is so degraded. The first English translation of what is now called “the holy ghost” was by John Wycliffe, who translated it as “our healthy spirit.” That is the manifestation of Divinity within and through our own nature.  All our natures, with this healthy spirit are sparks of light in the same fire. That immediately unites us. That companionability in the light of our healthy spirit—which is light and love and the way and truth and life—is what I have become less embarrassed about affirming in the course of the last thirty years or so.
